Our Methodology
Why QTMeds?
Drug-induced Long QT Syndrome is a major cause of Torsades de Pointes and sudden cardiac death. However, cross-referencing drug interactions regarding QT prolongation remains complex in daily clinical practice. QTMeds aims to simplify and secure this verification process with sources from the literature
Data Sources
Our algorithm cross-references data from the most reliable international standards:
- Public Drug Database (ANSM (FR)/ FDA (USA) data)
- Interaction Thesaurus (National Agencies)
- Scientific literature (PubMed, SemanticScholar, GoogleScholar) for cases, review, randomized clinical trials.
Validation Process
Every entry in our database follows a strict protocol:
-
Systematic SPC Review: We perform a manual analysis of the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) for every single molecule.
-
Exhaustive Literature Analysis: We investigate scientific evidence regarding QT prolongation (or safety) by cross-referencing Case Reports, Systematic Reviews, Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs), and FDA databases.
-
Medical Validation: Final verification and risk classification by a Medical Doctor.
