Clinical Description (Database Summary)

Intravenous (IV) Zanamivir does not affect cardiac repolarization. In a thorough QT study of 40 healthy adults, both therapeutic (600 mg) and supratherapeutic (1200 mg) single doses resulted in placebo-adjusted QTcF changes well below the 10 ms regulatory threshold. The maximum observed change for the 1200 mg dose was 1.73 ms (90% CI: −0.40 to 3.87 ms). No relationship was found between zanamivir serum concentration and the QTc interval
