Active Ingredient: VORICONAZOLE
Voriconazole does not directly inhibit the IKr potassium current in in vitro studies. However, clinical cases of QTc prolongation, Torsades de Pointes (TdP), and severe unexplained bradycardia have been reported. Voriconazole is extensively metabolized by CYP2C19, where poor metabolizers achieve higher plasma concentrations. Additionally, it acts as an inhibitor of CYP3A4, CYP2C9, and CYP2C19, increasing the risk of pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions with other QT-prolonging agents. Baseline ECG, heart rate, and electrolyte monitoring are recommended.
