Active Ingredient: SEVOFLURANE
Sevoflurane is an inhaled halogenated anesthetic that causes concentration- and stage-dependent QTc prolongation. In a pediatric study of 41 children aged 3 to 12 years, mean QTc increased significantly from 413.8 ms at baseline to 432.5 ms under sevoflurane monotherapy, and reached 439.2 ms when combined with intravenous ondansetron (p < 0.01). While ondansetron increased the Tp-e interval, the Tp-e/QT ratio remained unchanged and no ventricular arrhythmias were observed. Careful ECG monitoring is advisable during combined pediatric anesthesia induction.
