RAMIPRIL ALMUS 1

✓ VERIFIED BY DOCTOR

Active Ingredient: RAMIPRIL

QTc Interval Status:
neutre

Clinical Description (Database Summary)

Ramipril tends to prevent QT prolongation in doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity model in rats. Also, ACE inhibitors (Ramipril included), exert a beneficial and protective effect by reducing the QT interval. They improve cardiac electrical stability through multiple mechanisms: counteracting the Angiotensin II-induced inhibition of the IKr potassium current, normalizing intracellular calcium handling (via the SERCA2a pump), and decreasing sympathetic nervous system drive. Furthermore, they reduce arrhythmogenic remodeling by limiting cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis.
