Active Ingredient: POSACONAZOLE
Posaconazole is associated with a low potential for QTc prolongation, reported in 1 percent or fewer of patients in phase I and clinical trials. Preclinical assays showed no evidence of QT prolongation. While the official prescribing information includes a class warning for azole antifungals, documented cases of Torsades de Pointes remain extremely rare and confounded by underlying medical complications. Baseline ECG evaluation is advised in patients with pre-existing repolarization risk factors.
