Clinical Description (Database Summary)

(Hérité de PHENYLEPHRINE UNIMEDIC 0) Oral phenylephrine hydrochloride is an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist used as a nasal decongestant that demonstrates no clinically significant effect on cardiac repolarization or QTc intervals. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study of 28 healthy adults evaluating single doses of 10, 20, and 30 mg, no apparent dose-related changes were observed for Fridericia-corrected QT interval (QTcF) or individual baseline changes (ddQTcF). Pharmacokinetic exposure increased disproportionately with dose, while cardiovascular tolerability remained comparable to placebo, with only minor transient systolic blood pressure elevations during the initial 2 hours.
