In a prospective observational study of 135 emergency department patients (median age 77 years), short-term therapeutic-dose IV infusion over 2 hours produced no statistically significant changes in heart rate, PR interval, QRS duration, QT/QTcB intervals, or frontal QRS-T angle (a marker of ventricular repolarization heterogeneity, p = 0.273). Similar safety profiles were confirmed in sepsis subgroups, indicating a safe electrical profile during acute short-term administration.
