Active Ingredient: MOCLOBEMIDE
Moclobemide (a reversible inhibitor of MAO-A antidepressant) prolongs both QT and corrected QT (QTc) intervals in overdose settings. In a clinical toxicology study analyzing 75 patients with deliberate moclobemide self-poisoning (median ingested dose: 4.5 g), the mean observed QT was 415 +/- 51ms and the mean QTc was 459 +/- 44ms, demonstrating a significant prolongation compared to control groups. Twelve female patients developed a severe prolongation with a QTc > 500ms. Aside from one case of first-degree heart block, no ventricular arrhythmias were reported.
