Active Ingredient: MEXILETINE
Mexiletine is a class Ib antiarrhythmic and sodium channel blocker that shortens cardiac repolarization and QTc intervals by inhibiting the late sodium current. In addition to its established use in LQT3, a clinical study in patients with potassium channel-mediated LQT2 demonstrated a significant median QTc reduction of 65 ms (from 547 ms to 470 ms, p = 0.0005), with 67% of patients achieving a reduction of 40 ms or greater (mean decrease 91 ms). Maintained therapy prevented breakthrough cardiac events.
