Active Ingredient: LOMITAPIDE
Lomitapide is a microsomal triglyceride transfer protein inhibitor used in homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia that demonstrates no effect on cardiac repolarization or QTc intervals. In a 5-way crossover thorough QT study in 56 healthy volunteers, single therapeutic (75 mg) and supratherapeutic (200 mg) doses, administered alone or combined with ketoconazole, resulted in placebo-corrected QTcI changes below 3 ms with an upper 90% confidence bound of 4.7 ms, well below the 10 ms regulatory threshold. Assay sensitivity was confirmed with moxifloxacin and ketoconazole.
