Due to marked electrolyte disturbances including hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, and hypomagnesemia : Foscarnet can prolong the QT interval and has been associated with cardiac arrhythmias, including ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation, and torsades de pointes.
