Active Ingredient: CENOBAMATE
Cenobamate (an antiseizure medication) does not prolong the QT interval; instead, it causes a dose-dependent shortening of cardiac repolarization. In a thorough QT study of 108 healthy adults, therapeutic (200 mg/day) and supratherapeutic (500 mg/day) doses resulted in negative ΔΔQTcF values, reaching −10.8 ms and −18.4 ms respectively. While no subjects reached the critical threshold of QTc ≤340 ms during the trial, cenobamate should be avoided in patients with congenital Short QT Syndrome. Caution is advised when co-administering with other drugs known to shorten the QT interval.
