Active Ingredient: CEFTAROLINE
Ceftaroline fosamil is an advanced-generation cephalosporin active against MRSA that demonstrates no clinically significant effect on cardiac repolarization or QTc intervals. In a randomized, double-blind, crossover thorough QT study in 54 healthy volunteers with moxifloxacin positive control, a supratherapeutic intravenous dose of 1500 mg showed that the upper limit of the 90% confidence interval for placebo-corrected QTcIb changes remained strictly below 10 ms across all time points (peak 3.4 ms at 1.5 h). No correlation between plasma concentrations and QTc changes was observed.
