Active Ingredient: BUSPIRONE
Buspirone is an anxiolytic that was significantly associated with an increased risk of QTc prolongation in a matched case-control study of patients with PTSD (6% in QTc prolongation cases vs 2% in matched controls, p = 0.01). While commonly prescribed for anxiety, baseline ECG assessment and monitoring are recommended in patients with preexisting cardiac risk factors or concomitant QT-prolonging treatments.
